Draft pending legal review. Not yet in effect.
1. Who we are
HomeDojo is operated by HeySensei Education, Inc., a corporation organised in Delaware, United States, with its business address at [US business address]. In these terms “HomeDojo”, “we” and “us” refer to HeySensei Education, Inc..
You can reach us at hello@homedojo.com.
2. The service
HomeDojo is a homeschool mathematics service for students in grades 6 to 12. It provides lessons taught by Sensei, an AI tutor that explains at a whiteboard and answers questions; practice sets; checking of handwritten work; and daily summaries for parents. The Coached plan adds review by a human math supervisor.
HomeDojo supports learning and does not replace a parent's or guardian's responsibility for a student's education, supervision or compliance with any homeschool law that applies to them.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- Accounts are opened and held by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. Students use HomeDojo under their parent's account.
- The trial lesson on the homepage can be used without an account and without providing any personal information.
- You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been used without permission.
4. Plans, billing and renewal
- Plans are priced per student per month as shown on the pricing page. Prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are handled under our refund and cancellation policy.
- Purchases made through an education savings account (ESA) marketplace such as ClassWallet, Odyssey or Step Up For Students are also subject to that marketplace's and program's rules. See our ESA page.
- We may change prices with at least [30] days' notice before the change applies to your next renewal.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share an account or student seat with people it was not bought for;
- copy, resell, scrape or redistribute lessons, practice sets or explanations;
- upload content that is unlawful, harmful or that you do not have the right to share;
- interfere with the service, its security or other users;
- use the service to build a competing product or to train models.
6. Educational content and accuracy
Sensei is an AI system. We check its explanations against a curated curriculum and flag steps it is unsure about, and on the Coached plan a human reviews the week, but it can still make mistakes. Parents can read every exchange in full. HomeDojo gives hints and teaching rather than final answers by design, and we do not guarantee any particular grade, test score or learning outcome.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the work students upload, including photos of handwritten practice and questions they ask. You give us a licence to store, process and display that content to provide the service to your family and to keep the service safe. How we handle student data, including whether it is used to improve our models, is set out in the privacy policy.
8. Our content and third-party programs
Lessons, practice sets, Sensei, the HomeDojo name and the site are owned by HeySensei Education, Inc. or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Program names such as Saxon Math, Singapore Math, Math-U-See, Teaching Textbooks and CTC Math are trademarks of their respective owners. HomeDojo aligns its lessons to those programs so families can follow the book they already use; it is not affiliated with or endorsed by those publishers [confirm wording with counsel].
9. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if a payment fails and is not resolved, or if we must do so by law. On termination we delete or return student data as described in the privacy policy.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. [Counsel to finalise for consumer and children's services.]
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [Counsel to confirm venue and dispute-resolution clause.]
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, email account holders before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.
