Draft pending legal review. Not yet in effect.

1. Who is responsible

HeySensei Education, Inc. (Delaware, United States), business address [US business address], is responsible for personal information processed through HomeDojo. Privacy questions go to hello@homedojo.com.

2. What we collect

From parents and guardians

  • Name, email address and password for the account.
  • Billing details handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Support messages and the settings you choose for each student.

From students

  • A first name or nickname and a grade or course level.
  • Photos of handwritten practice, drawings on the tablet, and typed or spoken questions to Sensei, including voice recordings where the student uses voice.
  • Lesson progress, answers, hints given, mistakes made and mastery estimates, which power the daily parent summary.

Automatically

  • Device and usage information such as browser type, pages viewed and error logs, used to keep the service working. We do not use advertising trackers.

The trial lesson on the homepage runs without an account and stores nothing about the visitor [confirm once the live embed ships].

3. How we use it

  • To teach, answer questions, check work and generate practice for the student.
  • To report progress to the parent and, on the Coached plan, to the human supervisor.
  • To run accounts, billing, support and security.
  • To improve the service. Whether student work is used to train or evaluate our models, and in what form, is [to be decided and stated plainly here].

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use student data for advertising or for building profiles for any purpose other than education.

4. Children's privacy

HomeDojo is used by children, including children under 13. We collect information from a student only after a parent or guardian has created the account and consented, and we collect no more than is needed to provide the service. Parents can review the information we hold about their child, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@homedojo.com. Withdrawing consent ends the student's access. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) [counsel to confirm consent mechanism].

5. Who we share it with

  • Service providers that host our infrastructure, run our AI models, process payments or send email, under contracts that limit them to working for us. [List providers.]
  • Education savings account programs and marketplaces, only the invoice details the program requires: student name, parent name, dates of service and amount.
  • The human supervisor assigned to a student on the Coached plan.
  • Authorities where the law requires it, or to protect students or the service.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and student data while the account is active. After an account is closed we delete student data within [90 days], except records we must keep for tax, ESA program or legal reasons, which we keep only as long as required.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access inside the company is limited to people who need it to do their job, and we log access to student data. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will notify you as the law requires.

8. Your rights

Parents can access, correct, export or delete their family's data and can read every conversation their student has had with Sensei from inside the account. Residents of certain states have additional rights under state privacy law, and we honour them regardless of where you live [counsel to list applicable state laws].

9. Where data is processed

Data is stored in the United States. Some of our team works from the European Union and may access data from there under appropriate safeguards [confirm hosting regions and transfer mechanism].

10. Changes

We will post updates here with a new date and email account holders about material changes before they take effect, and we will ask for fresh parental consent where the law requires it.
